Alaska Railroad

The Alaska Railroad main line stretches 470 miles from Fairbanks to Seward, connecting Alaska’s interior with the south-central region of the state. It was completed in 1923 after nine years of construction. President Warren G. Harding personally drove the Golden Spike to finish the job.
