Our Danube River cruise included the cities of Salzburg, Linz, Krems, and Vienna as well as the beautiful Wachau Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Highlights included Salzburg Cathedral, Hellbrunn Palace, St. Michael's Basilica, Wolfgangee, Mondsee, Gottweig Abbey, St.Stephen's Cathedral, Hofburg Palace, and the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, home of the Lipizzaner Stallions. Austria is famous for the music of Mozart and Strauss, and many scenes filmed for "The Sound of Music".
