Maligne Lake, Maligne Canyon, Peyto Lake, and Athabasca Falls are premier features of Jasper National Park. The Columbia Icefields experience is a unique opportunity to ride a mammoth Ice Explorer tractor out onto Athabasca Glacier. Warming temperatures have caused considerable loss of ice, but the glacier is still over 600 feet thick. Wildlife sightings included moose, elk, and mountain goats. We also took a float trip on the Athabasca River.
