Belize is an exotic land of barrier reefs, ancient Mayan ruins, spectacular rivers, rainforests, and wildlife. It has three of the only four true coral atolls in our hemisphere. The coral reef systems of Turneffe and Lighthouse Reef are very healthy. And of course, Lighthouse Reef is home to the Great Blue Hole, made famous by undersea explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau during his filming expedition aboard Calypso in 1971.
