Just beautiful, Doug...the photos, the music, everything...brings a tear to my eye. If I only go on one more Aggressor trip for the rest of my life, it's GOT to be this trip!! Again, thank you for sharing your amazing experience!!
The Graceful Mantas of Kona This Kona dive site is world-famous for the Manta Rays that frequent these waters. They seem to enjoy swimming with admiring divers. Big Island, Hawaii - copyright 2008 Douglas M. Good
Manta Feeding Frenzy Two dozen Manta Rays feed shortly after dusk on plankton attracted by our underwater lights. The Mantas congregate on this Kona dive site nightly, even when divers are not present. Speculation is that the brilliant lights of the nearby airport runways on the Big Island provide plenty of reason for the nightly bloom of plankton. Big Island, Hawaii - copyright 2008 Douglas M. The Fujikawa Maru is one of the most spectacularly beautiful shipwrecks in Truk Lagoon. Truk (Chuuk) is in the Federated States of Micronesia in the western Pacific. It was the scene of a World War II battle between the Allies and Japan. Operation Hailstone sent some 40 Japanese merchant ships (maru) to watery graves in the shallow lagoon.
